SAVANNAH, GA – PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) has received data generated through recent independent testing that demonstrates continued performance gains for the company’s proprietary dimming ballast technology for Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs. 

The tests were performed at the request of lighting manufacturers to confirm that PureSpectrum’s unique electronic ballast circuitry topology would meet commercial production standards for the American National Standards Institute, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Star program and the Federal Communications Commission. PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta said preliminary results from the performance tests indicate the technology met or exceeded the necessary performance benchmarks in all areas and the company will move forward with licensing discussions as a result of these test results. 

During the past six months, Vanatta said two of the top three CFL manufacturers in the world have tested PureSpectrum’s innovative dimming technology for CFL bulbs in their own proprietary, private labs. Feedback gained through ongoing communications with engineers and executives from within those manufacturers has been an invaluable resource as PureSpectrum refined its circuitry in preparation for integrating it into the production process. 

“During our discussions with lighting manufacturers, we heard them say some minor modifications would need to be made in order for our technology to fully integrate into their production lines and we responded immediately to fulfill those requirements,” Vanatta said. “We have gone through several independent testing sessions with our dimmable ballast technology for CFL bulbs, and new set of test results has indicated continued performance gains in critical areas such as power factor and ballast factor. This most recent set of data is one of the final pieces to be put into place as we look to clearly define the scope of the business relationship between PureSpectrum and licensing partners.”     

The tests were conducted at Independent Testing Laboratories, a NVLAP-certified facility in

Colorado, and the data generated reinforces PureSpectrum’s position within the lighting industry as leading innovator for dimming ballast technology for fluorescent lighting. Test results are being packaged and sent to all prospective licensing partners this week, and full test results will be available at www.purespectrumlighting.com.  

PureSpectrum owns several patents and patents pending related to electronic ballast and dimming technology for both CFL bulbs and linear fluorescent ballasts. PureSpectrum’s design for dimmable CFL bulbs enables full linear regressive dimming capability and contains fewer components than commercially available dimmable CFL bulbs. Vanatta said PureSpectrum’s dimmable CFL model would be a benefit to both manufacturers and consumers. 

“Any CFL manufacturer would profit from being able to offer a dependable dimmable CFL bulb at an attractive price point,” Vanatta said. “Dimming has been a consistent negative issue within the CFL market that has prohibited full consumer acceptance, and we are able to provide an easily implementable technology solution. Licensing and integrating our technology would allow a manufacturer to provide the kind of performance that would earn increased loyalty from consumers who are tired of purchasing underperforming CFL products.”
