September 18, 2008 - PureSpectrum, Inc. engages Troutman Sanders Strategies as government relations agency

September 18th, 2008

SAVANNAH, GA – PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) has engaged government relations firm Troutman Sanders Strategies to introduce the company’s innovative lighting technologies to key government policy makers and utility companies.

The Energy and Environment team at Troutman Sanders Strategies boasts more than 50 years of combined experience communicating with the utilities industry as well as developing strong relationships with the relevant congressional committees, administrative agencies and key policymakers who are managing the improvement of the country’s energy policies. The firm’s experience includes interacting with utility companies throughout the

United States on regulatory, environmental and policy issues.

During the past 10 years, many utility companies have initiated giveaway programs for Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) to help promote energy conservation in the home, and PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta said PureSpectrum is ready to move forward with an aggressive marketing and sales campaign targeting utility companies in order to strengthen brand recognition and awareness.   PureSpectrum has developed multiple innovations in ballast technology for lighting designed to benefit both the environment and consumers. The company’s technologies promote energy efficiency and protect power quality, and Vanatta said PureSpectrum products are ideal for utility companies as they escalate their efforts to implement more environmentally friendly lighting products.

“Our technologies and products have already received significant attention from the energy industry and utility companies because of the wide range of benefits that the technology offers to the consumer and the environment,” Vanatta said. “We believe working with Troutman Sanders Strategies will allow us to place our products and technology in front of the most appropriate audiences to maximize the potential applications for these technologies. The ability to provide utilities throughout the country with PureSpectrum lighting products will strengthen brand awareness and develop consumer loyalty by putting PureSpectrum products into the marketplace. This increased awareness of the PureSpectrum brand will be invaluable to the company as we continue our negotiations with prospective licensing partners for the technology.”

PureSpectrum has completed production of a full line of dimmable, high Power Factor CFL prototypes and has arranged to manufacture its proprietary CFLs in

China. Vanatta said the first manufacturing order will be placed in October and have inventory ready to deliver before the end of the year.

“Industry research revealed that utility companies are most frequently asked for dependable, reliable dimmable CFLs and we know from our independent testing that a CFL with our ballast circuitry dims like an incandescent,” Vanatta said. “Our own research has indicated that the critical issue yet to be recognized within the lighting market is the effect Power Factor for CFLs has on overall power quality, and PureSpectrum CFLs are designed with high Power Factor to minimize the impact on overall power quality. We are confident that consumers who receive a PureSpectrum CFL will recognize our performance advantages and demand the quality that only our products can provide.”

PureSpectrum has established itself as a leader in lighting innovation through the creation of unique electronic ballast circuitry and its market driven approach to improving the performance of ballast driven lighting applications. The company recognized needs within the lighting industry associated with the transition to more energy efficient products and specifically addressed the performance areas identified through market research. PureSpectrum’s ballast design incorporates true dimming capability and high Power Factor ratings for fluorescent lighting with minimum components and no loss of lamp life. Throughout the development process, PureSpectrum has supported its claims by commissioning thorough independent testing for all of its technologies and products.
