December 3, 2008 - Recent data confirms PureSpectrum, Inc. is ready to launch superior dimmable CFL bulb

December 3rd, 2008

SAVANNAH, GA – PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) has completed the final round of performance testing on the company’s proprietary line of dimmable, high performance Compact Fluorescent Lamps and is moving forward with product manufacturing and distribution in the first quarter of 2009.

In a series of rigorous performance tests conducted by leading lighting lab EnerSave, PureSpectrum’s dimmable CFLs outperformed several brand name dimmable bulbs in multiple categories and exceeded performance requirements to be certified by both Energy Star and Underwriters Laboratory (UL).

According to head-to-head tests with brand name bulbs, PureSpectrum’s CFL demonstrates better overall dimming capability as well as superior dependability, durability and reliability. Based on these test results, PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta said bill of materials and circuit board layouts have been delivered to three major North American lighting manufacturers and product distribution will begin in North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) nations in the first quarter of 2009.

“These results are critical within the lighting industry, and anyone within the industry will immediately grasp the significance of the data generated,” said David Natarelli, president of EnerSave. “Given the data that we were able to collect, I believe the PureSpectrum CFL will last significantly longer than anything that is on the market right now. Consumers have begun to realize that CFLs don’t necessarily last as long as the manufacturers say they do. By virtue of actually living up to the longevity claims, PureSpectrum will go a long way toward establishing trust and loyalty among the people who buy light bulbs.”

Working with EnerSave, PureSpectrum has completed designs for a full line cost effective dimmable, high Power Factor enabled CFLs ranging from 14 watts to 23 watts and available in Edison screw-base or pin-based designs. The PureSpectrum CFL has a wider dimming range and higher energy conservation rate during dimming than any commercially available bulb.

The test data also indicates that PureSpectrum’s unique patent-pending ballast circuitry enables PureSpectrum’s dimmable CFL bulbs to be turned off and on at any dim level while other commercially available dimmable CFLs fail to reignite at low light levels. Additionally, PureSpectrum’s circuitry contains far fewer components than other brand name dimmable CFLs and is constructed without the component that has been proven to have the highest failure rate for electronic ballasts. All PureSpectrum CFL products are dimmable and have been designed to be compliant with established performance standards set forth by Energy Star, Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

“What these tests confirm is that PureSpectrum is introducing the highest quality, most reliable dimmable CFL ever put on the market,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “Our intuitive, market driven approach to engineering has produced ballast technology which enables performance that has not been attained by other brand name dimmable CFLs. The test results definitively prove that these bulbs will provide a direct cost savings for consumers and will perform more reliably for a longer period of time than any dimmable CFL currently on the market.”
