June 30, 2009 - PureSpectrum, Inc. completes initial sale and continues to receive strong interest from utility industry

June 30th, 2009

SAVANNAH, GAPureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) processed its initial order last week, continuing the company’s transition into revenue generation as product demand remains constant and sales momentum continues to build after the company returned from utility industry trade shows with pre-purchase product sample requests from more than 80 utility companies.

PureSpectrum received and processed a modest volume order for 20-watt dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) that will be installed in a new construction project in South Africa. In order to uphold reciprocal non-disclosure agreements, PureSpectrum will not release the name of the purchaser or further details regarding the order which will be filled during the third quarter.

“With the finalization of this sale, we are a revenue generating company engaged in full product deployment,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “We have maintained an extremely rapid pace throughout the product development process, and we expect that the pace of our progress will continue to accelerate as we continue servicing the demand for our products and sales volume increases. Through our marketing and networking efforts, we generated international anticipation regarding our products within multiple industries and we are now beginning to realize the benefits of establishing a demand for the products we can offer.”

The company continues to receive consistent demand from the municipal owned and pubic utility companies following appearances at the American Public Power Association (APPA) National Conference and Public Power Expo and the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Annual Convention/Expo. Members of PureSpectrum’s sales team met with hundreds of representatives from utility companies representing millions of dollars in purchasing power, and PureSpectrum is processing requests for products samples and will continue to distribute samples throughout July.

PureSpectrum program sales manager Jeff Smith, who is leading the company’s efforts to target utilities, said utility companies in the United States directly distribute millions of CFLs each year through subsidized programs and influence consumers to purchase millions more through messaging that promotes and supports energy efficient lighting. Many U.S. utilities work closely with retail outlets to support the absorption of energy efficient lighting into the marketplace, and Smith said seven utility companies requested product samples to conduct performance testing and introduce PureSpectrum products to national and regional retail chain outlets in their service areas pending successful completion of testing.

Lighting accounts for a large percentage of energy consumption in the United States, and Smith said the utilities are eager for consumers to take advantage of the unique benefits and energy conservation opportunities offered by PureSpectrum’s dimmable lighting products. The recent focus on federal legislation to reduce energy consumption for lighting in both residential and commercial settings has served to considerably heighten interest in high performance energy efficient lighting among utilities.

Because PureSpectrum is capable of fulfilling orders for dimmable CFLs, Smith said the products will factor into purchasing decisions in the last two quarters of 2009 as well as be included in higher volume purchasing plans for 2010.

“The common thread in our interactions during the trade shows was personal anecdotes about trying to find a dependable dimmable CFL told by high level executives from public and municipal owned utility companies,” Smith said. “Through appearances at these industry shows and face to face meetings, we are establishing a presence within the utilities industry and we are being integrated into their ongoing lighting programs for their customer bases. They know that our products are gateways to green lighting strategies that can save both money and energy, and as they receive our samples and successfully test them we are confident that PureSpectrum’s products will become the standard for dimmable energy efficient lighting for utility companies.”
