November 13, 2008 - PureSpectrum, Inc. unveils additional power reduction properties for proprietary dimming technology

November 13th, 2008

SAVANNAH, GA – PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) has completed internal testing which reveals that the company’s innovative, cost-effective dimmable Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulb offers additional energy-saving properties not found in brand name CFL bulbs.

In a comparative internal study, PureSpectrum’s 23-watt dimmable bulb used less electrical current during operation and provided more light output at lower wattages during dimming than five more expensive brand name dimmable bulbs. The data reveals that PureSpectrum’s bulb reduces power consumption proportionally throughout the dimming spectrum and strengthens PureSpectrum’s position as a leading innovator of dimming technology for ballast-driven lighting.

PureSpectrum’s unique electronic ballast topology contains significantly fewer components than conventional ballasts, which allows the PureSpectrum CFL to draw less current. By drawing less current, PureSpectrum’s circuitry reduces failure rates and improves bulb longevity by generating less unnecessary and potentially damaging heat during operation.

Additionally, PureSpectrum’s ballast more effectively channels power directly to producing light and maintains proportional energy savings as the bulb is dimmed. When the power input was reduced to half, PureSpectrum retained nearly 80 percent of full light output while the brand name bulbs in the test produced only about 40 percent of full brightness when the power was lowered to half.

“We have always been committed to verifying our performance through comparative testing, and our most recent testing confirms that we have created and are bringing to market the best dimmable CFL bulb in the industry,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “In multiple rounds of independent and internal testing, our bulbs have exceeded expectations and set new performance standards. We can offer consumers a more dependable dimmable CFL at a price which is lower than any dimmable CFL on the market. No other commercially available dimmable CFL can match the cost and performance benefits provided by PureSpectrum.”

PureSpectrum is in the process of negotiating contract manufacturing for its consumer friendly, energy efficient CFL bulbs and expects to have a full line of proprietary dimmable, high Power Factor CFLs ranging from nine watts to 42 watts ready for distribution in North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) countries in the first quarter of 2009. The company has launched an aggressive sales and marketing campaign directed at utility companies that participate in giveaway and swap programs, and PureSpectrum’s sales team has meetings scheduled with several US energy providers to discuss product distribution.

All PureSpectrum CFL products are dimmable and will be compliant with established performance standards set forth by Energy Star, Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
