June 24, 2009 - Dimmable CFL bulb from PureSpectrum, Inc. listed as Energy Star qualified

June 24th, 2009

SAVANNAH, GA – The dimmable 20-watt bare spiral Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) from PureSpectrum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PSPM) is listed as a qualified Energy Star lighting product according to current requirements.

Energy Star is a product evaluation program for consumer electronics operated by the U.S. Department of Energy, and certification is an ongoing process for lighting technology developers and product manufacturers. Several products from PureSpectrum are in the process of being listed as Energy Star qualified lighting products, and as an Energy Star partner PureSpectrum is committed to complying with any future revisions or updates to the Energy Star performance standards.

“We believe in the Energy Star program, because consumers know they can trust the quality and value of products that bear the Energy Star logo,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “When we became an Energy Star partner months ago, we pledged that all of our products would adhere to Energy Star standards and we will not waiver from that commitment. We want consumers to know they can have confidence in PureSpectrum products, and being listed as a qualified Energy Star product inspires consumer confidence.”

Having qualified Energy Star products also entitles PureSpectrum to apply to be a preferred vendor for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) which supplies federal projects with qualified products. The company has already begun the application process to list PureSpectrum’s 20-watt dimmable CFL on multiple GSA Federal Supply Schedules and the company plans to apply for other products to be included after they are listed as Energy Star qualified.

“The GSA represents tremendous purchasing power as well as a steady availability of high volume projects, and we are looking forward to including our products on the Federal Supply Schedules,” said PureSpectrum Vice President of Sales Garth Kullman. “Inclusion in large scale programs such as the GSA was always a component of our sales strategy, and as we continue the deployment process for our products we look forward to being able to take advantage of additional programs that offer access to bulk sales for larger projects.”
