July 16, 2010

Former Executive at TCP, Inc. and Osram Sylvania, Inc. Brings More Than Two Decades of Industry Experience and Insight

Savannah, GA - PureSpectrum, Inc. (OTCBB: PSRU) has hired lighting and lighting controls industry veteran Peter Weller to be the Company’s Vice President of Sales.

Mr. Weller, who holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of New Hampshire and holds two lighting patents, brings more than 20 years of industry experience in engineering, business development, marketing and sales. He has served in executive roles for established global lighting manufacturers with conventional product lines as well as innovative developmental companies introducing new technologies.

After beginning his career as an engineer with GTE Sylvania, his experience includes serving as Vice President of the Commercial and Industrial Sales Division and General Manager of a fixture brand he helped to develop for lighting giant TCP, Inc. Mr. Weller has also directed sales and marketing efforts as the Product Group Marketing Manager for Fluorescent Lighting at Osram Sylvania, Inc.

“Lighting controls and controlled lighting applications are going to be the lighting of choice in the foreseeable future, and I love the fact that PureSpectrum has created a family of dimmable products across multiple platforms,” said Weller, who was also the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Venture Lighting International and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for leading commercial lighting manufacturer H.E. Williams, Inc. “The industry is going to be concentrated on controlled lighting, and it’s a perfect setting for new leaders in energy efficient lighting to emerge. I have spent my entire career in lighting, and I am confident in the growing demand for the product line that PureSpectrum has developed. I believe my experience with both established manufacturers and leading edge start-up companies will enable PureSpectrum to take advantage of the best practices of both environments.”

PureSpectrum completed product development efforts on a full line of dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) earlier this year and is in the process of building its inventory of bulbs in multiple styles and wattages. Additionally, PureSpectrum’s commercial product line includes dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescent lighting as well as dimmable linear fluorescent fixtures. The Company currently has multiple products listed by the United States Department of Energy’s Energy Star program and expects to have additional products listed during the third quarter.

“We have been in discussions with Peter Weller for some time regarding the impact he could have on our efforts to firmly establish PureSpectrum as a trend setter in energy efficient lighting, and it was critical for us to have our full product line in place to give him the best opportunity to take advantage of the unique insights and relationships he has developed during a 20-year career in the lighting industry,” said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. “Mr. Weller has successfully managed business development and sales for some of the largest lighting manufacturers in the world, and he believes that we have built an ideal product line for the current trend in our industry. In turn, we believe his knowledge of the lighting terrain makes him the ideal person to successfully carry our products and technologies into the marketplace and rapidly gain market share in the energy efficient lighting market. We have a shared vision of the potential presence PureSpectrum can have as a provider of energy efficient lighting that is easily integrated with other energy conservation programs, strategies and technologies.”
